Hey, this is Lindsay Dotzlaf, and you are listening to Mastering Coaching Skills episode 261.
To really compete in the coaching industry, you have to be great at coaching. That’s why every week, I will be answering your questions, sharing my stories, and offering tips and advice so you can be the best at what you do. Let’s get to work.
Hey coach, as always, I am so glad you’re here today, I think. Honestly, maybe skip this one because I’m about to share something that feels super vulnerable and maybe a little cringe.
So if you are a fan of the podcast and if you’ve been listening, you may know because I’ve been warning you, there are changes coming. I have been working very hard behind the scenes on a rebrand, on a launch of a new membership, which is coming soon, on rebranding this exact podcast.
So there will be a new name coming soon and a whole rebrand of the podcast, although don’t worry, you will still be able to access all of the Mastering Coaching Skills episodes. They will stay in the feed. There will just be a new name and a rebrand. And the rebrand will just align a little more with where I am now in my coaching journey because when I started this podcast a long time ago, it feels like so long ago, 261 episodes, what in the world. That actually blows my mind.
I was focused solely on coaching skills. But if you have been a listener, you know I’ve branched out, right? I talk about business, I talk about some personal things. I talk about more than just coaching skills, which means it’s time to mix it up a little bit. Plus, there is just a bit of a like leaning a little more into transparency and honesty that I think you will love.
Now, if that sounds gross to you, if you’re like, ew, hate it, don’t want transparency, just give us the fluff and tell us what to do, then maybe this podcast is no longer for you, and that’s okay. I love you. There are many podcasts that will give you just high-level details without any behind-the-scenes, and you can go find them. Some of them are really great. But that’s not what’s going to happen here.
So my plan for today was to come at this episode with all of the exciting details of the rebrand and of a new membership I’m about to launch. And I promise you those details are all coming very soon, probably next week, probably in the next episode.
But something happened this week, and I can’t help but share it with you because I actually think it’s one of the most important lessons I have learned in my business since I started my business. I’m not kidding. And it feels so, so, so pertinent that I share it with you that I’m pushing all the planned content. I literally have all my content planned through the end of the year and beyond. But I’m just interrupting that to come here with this episode and say, you must hear this, no matter the stage you’re at in your coaching journey.
Okay, so here’s why I say I’m about to share something cringe, as my teenagers would say, because I’m going to play you an audio clip from a video that I posted in The Coach Lab, which is a program I’ve been running for about 4 and 1/2 years.
If you’re a regular listener of the podcast, you know you’ve heard the episodes about it. I’ve talked about it for years. It’s been kind of my signature foundational offer that has really been the heart of my business for years.
And I posted a video in there this week where I literally cry at the end, and I listened to the audio back, and honestly, I really kind of don’t want to share this with you.
It’s not me just saying this to be dramatic, but I shared it with a friend, and she encouraged me to share it. She said, this is so important. Who cares what you sound like? People need to hear this message. I’ve never heard anyone talk about it, and this is really, really, really important. Like, interrupt all your regularly scheduled programming, which is so funny. She had no idea what I had planned. And she said like, share this immediately to everybody. She said, I listened, I’m not even in The Coach Lab, and I had chills. I kind of wanted to cry myself like with you, and there’s just a message in here that is so important for people to hear.
So shout out to you, you know who you are. If you’re listening, thank you for encouraging me to share this. Who knows? I may delete this before it even airs. We’ll see. So I’m going to share that audio. But first, I’m going to do a setup about why it’s important.
Because here’s why I’m doing it anyway. Here’s why I’m like pushing through and honoring, yep, it might be cringe, and who cares? Some of you, even if it’s one of you, five of you, however many of you, need to hear this. This is why it matters. One, I’ve learned one of the most important lessons of my entire business this week. I already said that. Two, this is a lesson that every coach needs to hear, no matter what phase of business you are in. And three, I’ve never heard anyone talk about this. Maybe someone has, but it’s for sure a thing, but I’ve just never heard it. Okay?
So just for context, here’s what’s happening. So, The Coach Lab, my signature coaching skills program, is closing in its current form on January 29th of next year, 2026. And I am launching a new membership called The Complete Coach on November 5th.
And again, I planned to come here today to tell you all about The Complete Coach, to tell you all about my new offer, to get you like enrolled in the vision and whatever. And I don’t even know how else to say it besides I feel like I’m being led by like a force that is not my regular consciousness, that’s like some of you might need to hear this.
Because I, over these last couple weeks, months, maybe, but especially this week as I’ve been planning the new membership, as I’ve been creating all these new things and just feeling on fire with ideas and content and new branding and new energy and all the things, this last week or two weeks, I have felt so heavy. There has been a heaviness around it. And I realized I was putting off telling The Coach Lab members that The Coach Lab is closing.
And when I dug into that, like it just felt heavier and heavier and so much heavier than I expected. And I think because I’d been a little distracted by the new thing I was creating, not that I wasn’t still showing up for The Coach Lab, I absolutely was and still delivering everything I usually deliver.
But there was just a like, let’s not tell them yet. Let’s not tell them yet. No, no, let’s put it off one more week. And it got to the point that it was like, it, I have all the details figured out. As soon as I had all the details figured out, it was like, I must share it. And I probably sat at my computer for 30 minutes, maybe waiting to push record on the video that you are going to hear the audio of soon.
And every email I’ve been writing, every decision I’ve made, every conversation I’ve had leading up to this moment, it all just feels weighted. There’s a certain weight around it that I kept kind of pushing back if I’m honest. Yes, as a coach. Even as a coach who is very skilled, I was ignoring some of the things. I was just pushing them back, ignoring them because I just knew I have a lot of work to do. I just have to keep moving forward. Right?
And at first, for a moment, when I was sitting here about to push record on the video, I was like, what if I made the worst decision ever? What if this is a terrible decision? What if this is a sign? How many of you have thought that before? What if I’m making the biggest mistake ever? But here’s what I realized. The moment I hit record on the video, or maybe like a few moments before that, honestly, I realized, no, I feel so excited about what I’m building. It’s going to be incredible. It’s a new membership. It is filling in gaps that The Coach Lab had.
It is recognizing that a coach is a full human and that it’s really hard to just prioritize just one area of your business, right? That it is going to be easier to do it thinking about the full ecosystem of your business: coaching skills, business skills, and the whole business life integration. And that feels so important to me, and it’s so clear where I’m going. And it’s so clear that it’s right and that it’s perfect in this moment and that it’s exactly where I am supposed to be going. And of course, I just feel very, very sad about The Coach Lab coming to an end.
And both things are allowed to be true at the same time. Plus, the heaviness of it makes so much sense. It’s not a warning sign. It is a totally different kind of sign altogether. It means I built something that really mattered, something I feel super proud of, something that people loved, right? And something that is going to evolve, and honestly, that evolution is supposed to feel hard.
Because what is the opposite of that, right? That I feel relieved, that I’m like glad it’s closing, that I’m excited it’s closing? No. I want to honor, I mean, I’ve had about 500 or so members in The Coach Lab over 4 and 1/2 years, and it has seriously been one of my favorite places, one thing that’s been so constant in my business for 4 and 1/2 years.
And the clients are incredible, and they still show up and they still come to calls, and every Thursday I show up and coach them, and it’s honestly a highlight of my week every single week. And there’s supposed to be a sadness. Like that is honest and true, and it makes sense.
And no one ever told me that might be a thing. And so here I am telling you, just in case you ever find yourself in this situation. I don’t want you to take your sadness or the weight of things and make it mean that you’re doing something wrong or that you aren’t supposed to evolve, or that you should obviously just show up forever and ever and ever and keep delivering to the current clients even when it isn’t actually the best for you, for your business, or even for them.
So I just really want to deliver this message that gives you permission to feel really sad when things are coming to an end, and take that sadness as a really great sign that you are on the right track. And this is true if you are just shifting your 1-on-1 offer, if you are changing something about a group program, like it doesn’t have to be a program with 500 members to feel this weight and heaviness and sadness. This can always come with evolution, and I think it’s a really, really good thing.
My friend yesterday who I was talking to, who encouraged me to share this, she gave me the analogy, which I thought was amazing of, she said like think about the quarterback that wins the Super Bowl, helps his team win the Super Bowl, and then retires after versus the quarterback that wins the Super Bowl and then decides to stay a little longer even though he knows it’s time for a retirement.
And then he gets injured, then he gets maybe drafted to a different team or switched, whatever the terminology is, switched to a different team, and goes out like on a low. Right? She said, you’re going out on a high. You’re like winning the Super Bowl and retiring on a high.
Now, I want to be very clear. I don’t necessarily think like it’s the right decision, but the analogy that she gave me was just really useful. It let me sit with it and really let me see, like, okay, this evolution that I know is happening, of course, it feels heavy. And also, wouldn’t I rather go out?
Wouldn’t I rather close it down as like the biggest three-month celebration that has ever happened inside The Coach Lab? Which is exactly what’s happening, by the way. If you are a member and you haven’t read the emails and whatever, and you’re just now finding out about this, go find your emails because there’s so many fun things planned for the last three months. We are going out with a bang. We are not just like fading quietly. We are making it happen. Promise.
So, for just a little more context before you hear the video that I almost feel like I’m stalling, like, ah, you don’t really need to hear it. You’ll be fine. I could just deliver this message without you hearing the audio from what I posted.
This week, on Monday, I sent an email to all Coach Lab members. I was honestly terrified. It was announcing the changes, announcing what’s happening, the evolution. And just so you know, the listener, if you’re not in The Coach Lab, what’s happening is it’s a lifetime access program, and all the live portions are ending. So the community is closing and the live calls are closing in January, but the members still get access to the lessons and their portal. They get to take that with them. But they just, like all the live portions are closing.
And then I’m opening a new membership which launches soon, and hopefully a lot of them will come with, right? If they’re like on board, if they love what I’m doing, they’re going to come with me. But they might not. They might just take The Coach Lab lessons, take it with them, and I may never hear from them again.
So anyway, I sent this email. My stomach was in knots. Literally, I reread it 50 times. I questioned everything. I questioned, like after writing the email, I was like, are you sure you want to do this? Once you send this email, there’s no going back. Even though I’ve been planning this for literally four months. I’ve been building the membership. I’ve been thinking about, like, what’s the evolution of The Coach Lab? How do we end it? Been thinking about all these things. I was so scared, seriously so scared. I didn’t sleep that night. Just a mess, more so than I’ve been in my business for a very, very, very long time. And I want to let you know what happened.
The response to this email, I had the most beautiful, supportive messages from Coach Lab members. I was so scared that I was going to get all the messages that were like, I can’t believe you’re doing this. You suck, you’re an awful human, like whatever. You’re ruining your business. Whatever the messages were going to be, that’s what I was up thinking about the whole night.
And I didn’t get one. I did get some messages from people sharing that they are sad, but that they get it. And that’s okay. Like of course, they are allowed to feel their feelings. And if you are a Coach Lab member and you don’t feel this way, and you are mad or you do have thoughts about it, you can still reply to the emails. I’m still open. I want to hear everything you have to say. I’m very open to feedback. Hopefully, you know that there’s a feedback form inside your portal. You can go fill it out right now. It’s been there the whole time.
But basically, they understood. That was the overarching message. There were so many people saying, thank you for showing me how to do this, something like this, in integrity, in a way that is so clear that you love your clients. In a way that, like, even though I’m sad, I still feel excited about where we’re going, about where you’re going, about what happens next. They literally thanked me for building something that mattered so much that they feel sad about losing it, and so much that I feel sad about sharing.
One specific message said, of course, I’m so sad, but this makes the most absolute sense for where you’re going. I can feel how much you care about us through all of this decision. Someone else said they are in Coach Unfiltered, which is a behind-the-scenes offer I’ve been running, so some people have been seeing this all go down and me building the membership and everything.
They said, I’ve been watching you navigate this for months, and I couldn’t be more proud of you for following what you know is right, even as a Coach Lab member. And those are just two examples. But there were so many people, even people that guest coach for me in The Coach Lab, I was really worried about them too, right? Like, just thinking, oh my gosh, they’re going to be so sad this thing is closing. They’re very connected to it as well. There were just so many tethers that I was like, oh my gosh, if I pull this one thread, it’s all going to come crashing down.
And the only reason I’m sharing this, this is not to toot my own horn. It’s not to say, oh my gosh, I did such a good job. No, it is just to share with you that sometimes when you build something that’s really amazing, it is going to be sad to end it. And that is okay. It’s totally normal.
So here’s the quick lesson before I share the audio. Here’s what I want you to know. No one tells you about closing something you love. It’s like being in a relationship that you know you love the person, but they’re not the person. Think the last time you broke up with someone. For me, it’s been a while, but I still remember it so viscerally. I’ve been with my husband for a long time, but I can think back to high school, to college, when it was just like, I really love you. You’re an amazing human. You’re not my human. It feels very much like that. And that is a good thing. That’s honoring the truth for both of you.
And I want to be clear, I know the contrast because I have felt both. I know the difference. I’ve closed things before where I just have felt like pure relief when it was over. And relief is like, you know that feeling. If you’ve had clients, if you’ve ever, like, shifted an offer or closed something or launched something that just wasn’t working, you know the feeling.
When you finally shut it down, something you’ve been kind of dragging yourself to show up for, or maybe you have a client where it’s just not working out, you can’t pinpoint exactly why. And as soon as their kind of contract ends, you feel relief. That’s so different, right? Maybe you cancel an offer that felt like an obligation instead of inspiration. When you maybe admit to yourself that something just isn’t working and it has to stop, or you have to like make some changes.
And that relief is its own kind of clarity, right? It just tells you different information. That tells you like you’ve stayed too long. You maybe ignored some signs. You didn’t change things when you should have. You kept something on life support possibly that should have ended a long time ago. And there is no shame in that. We have all done it. If you’ve had, if you’re a coach, maybe you haven’t all done it.
If you’re a new coach, great for you. You’ve probably never experienced this. But if you’ve been in this world for a while, you have experienced this in some form. I guarantee it. And I have definitely done this too. That’s how I know this has been so different. I think it’s why it caught me off guard. It does not feel at all like relief. It feels like that breakup I was mentioning, right? Where I’m like, I love this person so much, but it’s just not the person.
And it’s so much harder than closing something that you’re totally checked out of or that you’ve moved on from mentally already, because I haven’t. I’m still like fully emerged in The Coach Lab. So the biggest lesson here is that the ache, the heartache, is proof that you’re doing it right. And that you didn’t stay too long, that you didn’t let it just drift and like fade into mediocrity, that you’ve built something people loved, including you, and you are now choosing to let it evolve or close and create something new.
So, because I’ve never heard anyone talk about this before, that’s why I’m willing to share this audio with you. And I still am like, oh, am I sure I’m going to do it? Because literally it feels, I don’t know, it just feels awkward to share it. Fair warning, I do cry at the end. So it’s real, it’s a little cringe, as my kids would probably say, and it’s exactly what I needed to say in the moment. So with no further ado, here you go.
Hi coaches. I wanted to pop in here and send you a quick message. So this feels important. I have something important to tell you. This video will only be a few minutes long. If you can watch the whole thing, that would be great because I’m going to say some things towards the end that are really important that I want to remind you of.
But some of you already know this. You’ve seen the email that I sent on Monday. But I wanted to post it in here too. I thought it was really important because I know some of you, for whatever reason, don’t get the emails. Either you’ve unsubscribed, or you maybe it’s in your spam or whatever.
So I have some news, which is The Coach Lab, in this current form is will be closing, not for a little bit. Our last live call will be January 29th, 2026. So in about three months. And I wanted you to hear this directly from me, and there are some things that I want to tell you.
First of all, if you see me glancing at, glancing to the side, it’s because I have some notes, because I am feeling a little emotional about this, and I want to stay on track. I also feel just a little nervous, and I don’t want to forget to say anything because this message feels very important.
First, I just want to tell you where this decision is coming from and why I’m making it. And I know that some of you might feel disappointed. You might be surprised if this is the first you’re hearing about it. But hopefully, when I explain some of the reasons that I’m making this decision, you will understand.
So over the last, you’ve probably noticed over the last year or two, a lot of my messaging, if you listen to my podcast, if you follow me on social media, some of my messaging has been changing. Because about a year or maybe two years ago, I really started to notice just how much overlap there is between coaching skills and building a business.
And it just feels really very, very important to me to be more than the coach that just helps you with your coaching skills and then sends you on your way or tells you to go other places to get help with anything else. Because I’ve really come to notice that in my own business and in my own life, and also for a lot of you, it can be get complicated to find the support you need in all the different places and then have to come back and kind of piece it together.
So this thing started happening where I was like, you know, I really want to have a place where I can help coaches with their coaching and with their business, and also the life piece, the like, how do I balance building, creating this thing I love with a life that I love. And that just feels really important to me, and it was one of those things, like as soon as I noticed it, I couldn’t not see it. And so that’s where we are.
So my business is evolving a bit, which and I’ll tell you a little bit about that at the very end. But first, I really want to focus on just what these last three months are going to look like because I have some really fun things planned, and I really want you to also hear some things that are really important.
So first of all, I just want you to know, and you probably know this, especially if you’ve been on the live calls, because I say it all the time, this has been my favorite place to show up for the last, what, I think 4 and 1/2 years. I love coaching here every Thursday or most Thursdays. I love coming to the live calls. I love everything about all of you and this group.
And I just feel honestly so grateful for all of you, for every single one of you, even if I’ve never interacted with you, but you’ve just been a part of the community and a part of the energy around The Coach Lab. Just watching you grow and watching really watching how much you care about your clients and about your coaching has just seriously like it’s lit me up. Also watching you all form connections with each other, like in the community and on the calls, I can tell how much you support each other, even with some of the guest coaches. I really, really value community and connection.
And so it just is really fun to know that I kind of created this space, but then that you all came in and like made it what it is, and really for some of you it became such a place of connection. And I know that that’s going to be possible for you even outside of this, right? Even when The Coach Lab community at least no longer exists.
But I just want you to know that I don’t take this decision lightly, and I just appreciate you so much, whether you’ve been a member, a client since the very beginning, or maybe you joined a year or so ago, and you’re all just equally as important, even if I have never ever interacted with you, you know, personally.
Okay, so let me tell you briefly what will happen between now and the end of January. Here’s the first thing I want to tell you. I want to challenge us because I am going to continue to show up. I do not want this to be something where the energy dissipates and it just like slowly fades. I would rather ramp it up. Like, what if we go out with a bang? What if over the next three months, you get the most coaching, ask for the most support, just like show up and get everything you can out of these next three months. Right? Like, use the community in whatever ways you want. I mean that are appropriate for the space, of course. And just get any support that you need before we close.
I am willing to make these next three months be the best three months of The Coach Lab. Because one of the reasons that this is happening isn’t because I don’t think that this container is valuable or that I am like just ready to move on and don’t like it. I’ve actually been quite emotional about this because it’s quite the opposite. It feels like letting go of something I love, love, love, to create something that I just know is my next thing. Like, I just know that this is the evolution, but it doesn’t make this part any easier.
Okay, let me find my place in my notes so I can be sure to because these are the important things I want to be sure to say. So just so you know what you can expect. So between now and January 29th, nothing changes except for some fun things I’m adding, but nothing changes about our calls. We will still have live calls every Thursday. We will still have the community, and then we will, you know, you’ll still be, we’ll be posting a schedule, and you’ll be getting emails with a schedule and with some special announcements and some special calls.
But you can show up until the very last second and get everything you can out of these last three months. Every, so every Thursday at noon Eastern time, as always, we will be having our regular calls. So keep showing up, keep getting coached, bring all your questions. And if you’re the person who’s been like, I just keep meaning to come to these calls, now is the time. Just start now. Like, seriously, if you have never come to a live call or if you’ve never posted in the community, I want you to just have zero thoughts about it. I have no thoughts about it. I am not judging you. I don’t care.
But you could decide this week, like, oh, I’m just going to start coming. I’m just going to start. I’m going to get everything I can out of these last three months. So that’s my challenge, my invitation to you. I also want you to know, truly, whether or not you come with me where I’m going, which, of course, I hope you do. But if you don’t, I will also have no thoughts about that. I won’t judge you. I will have no ill will towards you. I will still show up here in this container and give you everything I can. And again, the community will stay open. Our last call is January 29th. The community will stay open also until that same day. After that, we will archive it.
So you’ll still be able to pop into the community and see any old posts or comments or anything you got coaching on in the community. You just won’t be able to post anything new. The other thing, this is very important, you will still have access to the portal content. You’ll be getting more information about that, but I just want you to know that. Like the learning, the skills, the, you know, the recordings, like the actual learning that you can consume, you will still have access to that. That is not going anywhere. It is just the live portions, right? So the live, it’s almost like it’ll turn more into a course.
So, like the live calls every Thursday and the community, we just won’t be running those anymore, but you will still have access to the content. Again, you’ll be getting some an email and some information about that. If you are one of the people that is no longer on my email list for whatever reason, it’s totally fine. But you want to be sure to be on the list to, you know, so you don’t miss anything. Even though we will try to be posting it in here too, we’ll make sure to post all the important things in the community as well. But you can let us know. Email me, email the team, whatever is easiest for you. You can even comment below if you want, tag me so I see it. And let’s see.
Okay, I think I covered those are the most important pieces, at least at this point. If you have any comments or questions that you want to share with me, feel free to comment below. Let’s keep it friendly. I don’t see why you would turn into a different community now than you have been. But if there’s anything you want to tell me personally, please feel free to email me. I’ll make sure my email address is in the, in the post so that you can copy it and paste it. But I’m always here for you. I am, don’t send me a DM in Facebook because I, in messenger, I rarely, rarely, rarely check it. So I will miss it, okay? But if you email me, I will read your emails.
And if for some reason, I’m not responding, not getting back to you, sometimes, every once while, they go to spam, something weird happens. Comment below, tag me, like get my attention however you need to, okay? Truly, I am here to support you all the way to the end and beyond, really. You can email me anytime. I will love to hear from you.
A quick just little blip about what’s coming next because some of you have already heard me talking about this, and so you’ve been asking questions. So I’m just going to like scratch that itch just a little bit so that you can be prepared if this is something that you’re interested in.
So like I said, I have been just feeling this pull to evolve and to have an offer that really is a like all-in-one encompassing everything type offer. Everything a coach could need to run their business: coaching skills, business skills, and then life and business, you know, integration. So I’m creating a membership. It’s called The Complete Coach, and it integrates all of those things. Those are the three pillars. And it also has a very heavy emphasis on community.
So there will be, you know, I’ve loved this community. We, when I created it, it was a lot, you know, the thought was like, I just want a place where people can come and get coaching in between sessions. The community, the new community I’m creating, will be doing some different things, some one, some things that having the recurring revenue of a membership allows me to do more like social-type things. You’ll be getting a lot more information about that. But it is a membership. It will be launching for you because you get in first.
For anybody who’s coming with, anybody that wants to join from The Coach Lab and from some of my other offers, it’ll be launching the first week of November. So in a couple weeks. More information, like I said, will be coming with the pricing, with all, everything you need to know. And again, I really do hope that you come with me. I hope you hear me say this and you’re like, what? I can’t wait. I’m totally in. This sounds amazing. But if you’re not, that is okay. Right? If you’re like, I think I’m complete, that’s perfect.
The irony of that, right, with the membership being called The Complete Coach, I didn’t think of that until I just said it. But if you are complete here, I love you just the same. And seriously, I really am so grateful for you. I’m grateful for what we have created together. I could not have created all of this without you. It just wouldn’t have worked. It wouldn’t have been the same. It wouldn’t have had the same energy.
So I think that’s it. The new, this, the new offer will be launching November 5th. That’s the official date. And you’ll be getting an email. I’ll be posting about it in here with the links. But this is not a pitch. This is just kind of letting you know where I’m going, saying, I hope you come with me, and if you don’t, I fully understand that as well. I know that you may have some feelings about this. You may have some questions. You may have some things you want to share with me. There will be some scheduling updates coming telling you about some special calls I’m going to be hosting.
That January 29th call will be our final call, and it’s going to be a huge celebration. And I really hope that you join us, even if you’ve never been on one call, come to that call. The other thing, the week before that, what would that be, the 22nd, we will be having a call celebrating the guest coaches because I couldn’t have done this without them either. They have been incredible. They’ve given so much to this community, and we love them. I love them. And I know you love them from the things that you’ve put in some of your feedback forms. I hope that you come to both of those calls, and hopefully, you’ll come to every call up until then and get all the coaching you need.
So in closing, just truly, truly, thank you. That is the main point of this message. Thank you. I appreciate you. I feel so grateful. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for coaching each other. I’m not crying. I was doing so great until just then. I’m going to leave this in because I just want you to see, like this is how I feel, right? It’s like I feel sad about this. I also feel very excited about what I’m creating and where I’m going. And I’m excited for you to come with, but I do feel sad. So that’s where I am today. But thank you.
Thank you for showing up. Again, thank you for showing up for me. Thank you for showing up for each other. Thank you for showing up for the community. And I’m really excited to share with you what’s coming next, and hopefully, I will see you on the call tomorrow. All right. Bye.
Okay, so let’s just acknowledge quickly what you just heard. It was not polished, clearly not strategic for this podcast. It was just real. It was just me. I blabbed on a bit. You heard it. There it was.
So here’s what I want to say for you. If you’re sitting with a decision that feels scary, if you feel like you care too much, that could be the sign that you’re going in the right direction, right? If it feels easy, if it’s like supposed to be done already, you probably should have already made the decision. You probably should have already moved on. So just do it. Just do it. Get to it. Whatever.
But the thing that feels like you might cry thinking about it, but you just know if you reach down in your heart that it’s the right decision, that it’s the decision that matters, I just want you to listen to that and just listen to that wisdom, whatever it is telling you. And I really want you to know that you can feel two things at once. You can feel sad and excited. You can feel grief and move forward at the same time. You can honor what was in the absolute best way, be excited, and build what’s next. They are not contradictions.
It doesn’t mean that anything has gone wrong. That’s just what it looks like when you’ve built something worth really building. So pay attention to which feeling you have when you’re closing something, closing any chapter. Relief, that’s telling you something. Maybe you stayed too long. And that’s okay. Now you know.
The aching grief mixed with excitement, that’s also telling you something. Maybe it’s telling you you did it right. You built something that mattered, and now you’re brave enough to let it evolve. And I know in this moment, this may not be valid for every single one of you, but for those of you that needed to hear it, I hope this really resonated deeply. Because both experiences are valuable. Both teach you something about yourself and about your work. And there is absolutely no shame in either one. There’s not like a right way and a wrong way. There’s just learning.
Okay, so next week, I promise I will circle back. I will tell you about all the things I’m building, about all the changes coming. I will tell you about The Complete Coach membership, what it is, why I built it, why it exists, what matters, what makes it different, and I will tell you my rebrand story and the integration philosophy, all of it. All right? But today, I just really wanted you to see what it can sometimes feel like to evolve. We think it’s going to be fun, exciting, and amazing. But it also sometimes is hard, even though it’s the right decision.
So feel all the things and keep moving forward. And I really want you to honor whatever is next for you. Only you can know. Only you can know the right path. Building things that matter means eventually facing hard decisions. And I think maybe you even need to know that up front because in the future you’re going to be building something like The Coach Lab.
Thanks for listening to me cry. Thanks for listening to all the cringe moments. And hopefully, I didn’t scare you away, and you’ll be back here next week. Love you, mean it. Goodbye.
